What is Generative Guidance?
Philip chose Generative Guidance because in his experience healing always results in growth in some capacity or another. He sees Nature as a generative venture and we aren’t separated from. Just as our experience of time never goes backwards, our bodies being of Nature never heal and return to being the same as it was before. This perspective opens the possibility to seeing that as much as the past informs what we’re healing, our future informs the why. This provides a focal point beyond our suffering, and opens the door towards believing that our symptoms are deeply connected to the expression of our being and evolution as a person.
1) To offer generative guidance through dynamic healing events in the form of retreats and private sessions.
2) To introduce people to philosophies and perspectives that generate autonomy and personal empowerment, increasing their ability to generate healing on their own and in their communities.
3) To generate new connection and communities. As much as healing is a personal process, we need to create healthy communities to thrive and be witnessed on our journey.
Generative Guidance is a by-product of founder Philip Kampfer’s decades of therapeutic and spiritual inquiry and study. Seeking a place providing shelter from the storm our current medical, economic, and existential models create in our lives he sought to find an existence where living our natural expression makes sense. He wanted to find the solace and peace he believes we’re entitled to as human beings on this planet. Over time, his commitment to growth led to an understanding that fundamentally his pursuit meant coming home to himself. Coming home to the primal experience of being, being in the body, on this planet, and connecting deeply with his sense of purpose for being here.
Through Generative Guidance Philip wants to re-connect people with their inherent and incredible capacity to heal. We all have an ability lying dormant in our being, provided by nature. For most people it remains unheard beneath our conditioning. Through anatomy, physiology, the practice of biodynamic craniosacral therapy, and spiritual inquiry he offers generative guidance towards how to build a reliable relationship with that personal power. His sessions and courses offer perspectives that question common assumptions around how we should be relating to ourselves, our experience, nature, and the body. His dream is to assist people in finding more acceptance of themselves and their life journey.

Why the name Generative Guidance?
Our mission and story;
Meet Philip
Philip Kampfer is native to Southern California, and is currently living and offering his work in Central America. He has travelled the world studying, practicing, and assisting courses since 2009 and has accrued over 2,500 hours of in class time. He has been certified in Esalen Massage, Awareness-based Structural Integration, has been licensed to practice in both California and Hawaii, and has 10+ years of experience studying and practicing Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy — some of which was spent assisting courses. Elements of his teachings and practice are strongly influenced by his exposure to and ongoing relationships with Vipassana meditation, The Course in Miracles, Biodynamic Touch, Family Constellations, Mystery School, and his exposure to shamanic work.
Believing inviting Nature into our practices and our lives is essential to health, he is an avid Nature enthusiast in all mediums. Philip enjoys warm weather, surfing, hiking, and exploring new places in the world and their cultures. He is very passionate about sustainability, and for a chapter was partner-owner of a regenerative farm management company in California. In his free time he thoroughly enjoys exploring new places and cultures, talking about Human Design and Astrology, food with friends, listening to and making music, and photography.
A deeper look at Philip’s therapeutic background;
In 2009 Philip enrolled for a month-long Esalen Massage training at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA. Prior to his studies at Esalen, he had no experience with the concepts of healing, yoga, or deeper philosophical and spiritual inquiry. An entire world he never knew existed came into view, marking the beginning of his healing journey.
In late 2009 he dabbled in acupressure, shiatsu, Swedish massage, chi gong and tai chi before enrolling in pre-med curriculum thinking to become a DO or chiropractor. In 2013 he started looking at medical schools to apply to and soon realized that the philosophies inherent to our modern medical paradigm weren’t resonating. He saw what seemed like every branch of medicine preach their way, was the way, and couldn’t commit to eight or more years of trying to believe it or partake in that kind of approach to wellness.
In 2014 he changed trajectory, opting for alternative therapies and a 6-month certification in Awareness based Structural integration in Kauai, Hawaii. There in late 2014 was his first introduction to and study of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) with Craniosacral Asia. In 2015 he began traveling around the globe to continue its study and mastery, with most of his time abroad being spent in Bali, Indonesia. Bali opened him up to other therapeutic modalities including Family Constellations and Mystery School, spiritual pursuits like Vipassana meditation, and the Course in Miracles, and to the worlds of Astrology and Human Design.
When Philip was exposed to Biodynamic work he had an epiphany: the pressure of created by an allopathic approach to healing, that places the responsibility of coming up with diagnosis and treatments for clients on the therapist, had been slowly suffocating him. BCST was the first therapy he studied and received where the emphasis was shifted from the practitioner, to the body of the person receiving in terms of where healing is generated and guided from. It was also the first therapy he felt a deeply tangible and significant sense of lasting results for himself and his clients. An existential shift occurred for him through this work, and 2014 was a big milestone in his life’s journey. One that generated expansive growth and positive momentum in a dramatic and healing way. Needless to say, he’s very passionate about Biodynamic healing and feels called to share its potential with the world.
